quilt guild
Well I decided to join my local hometown quilt guild. I have never belonged to a guild before and I fiqure it's about time I did. They are the Common Threads Quilters and the first meeting I go to is this Wednesday and I am really excited about going, plus we already have something in common , they are thinking of becoming part of the quilts for kids organazation which I have been a part of for awhile now. It should be fun and a new adventure!

I've been reluctant to join a guild because I've heard so many bad things about them - women being catty and such. I keep saying we should start a renegade guild!!
Then again, our blog family is kind of like a guild!!
How did the guild meeting go? I joined our local guild about a year ago and I enjoy going. I find it is an incentive to try to get things finished so you can Show and Tell. We have some pretty good workshops too. I am missing the one this month since we are on our way to visit kids and grands in GA. The workshop is on making a quilted sweatshirt jacket. Good timing for it as it has now all of a sudden turned cool. I am hoping some of my friends who are going to the workshop will tell me all about it.
There is sometimes that catty thing going on - I just try to be oblivious to it. There are also plenty of older ladies especially who are such helpful resources to a newer quilter like me. Hope you enjoyed your first meeting.
